How Much Does a Logo Cost? A Price Breakdown by Who Makes It
A logo runs from $20 in a generator to over €4,000 at an agency. We break down what each price level buys, using Czech market pricing as our reference.

In short
- A generator logo costs $20 to $65, a junior designer 3,000 to 8,000 Kč, a studio with a full identity 20,000 to 100,000 Kč or more.
- The price gap comes from scope: research before the first sketch, how many genuinely different concepts you get, revision rounds, the file set and rights transfer.
- A logo built from a Canva template cannot be registered as a trademark, because anyone else can use the same template.
- At Chronicles studio a logo starts at €800, visual identity from €1,200 and a brand book from €1,650, and the price is final.
A logo costs from $20 in an online generator to over €4,000 at an agency. A small business that wants a logo designed by a person, with full files and transferred rights, typically pays €610 to €1,630. These figures come from the Czech market, our reference point for continental Europe.
How much does a logo cost depending on who makes it?

A mark from pre-built shapes and fonts, no designer involved |
Design contest (99designs) |

Senior designer (price overview) |
10,000 to 30,000 Kč |

Why does a logo cost twenty times more in one place than another?
On the surface, everyone sells the same thing: an image with a company name. In practice, each price tier differs in five specific ways.
1. How much thinking happens before the first sketch
A generator does no thinking. It assembles a shape and a font based on the industry you enter. A cheap designer usually starts drawing right after a short brief. A studio first finds out who your customers are, what competitors look like and everywhere the logo will appear. This part is the least visible, and it takes the most time.
2. How many concepts you get, and how different they are
Concepts only help when they are genuinely different. Variations on one idea with a different color or font give you nothing real to choose between. At Brainwave, the concept count is the main difference between packages: 3 for 16,990 Kč, 6 for 38,990 Kč.
3. How many revision rounds are included
Revision rounds are the most common source of disputes. An offer with no number means the rounds get negotiated later, mid-project. One to three rounds after the direction is chosen is standard, and every extra round usually costs separately.
4. What you actually receive at the end
This is the largest hidden difference. A logo as a single PNG file is fine for a profile picture. A print shop, a sign maker or a web developer will want a vector file, a single-color version and exact color values. Missing those, you pay for them later, often billed as redrawing the logo into vectors, which Design Crew charges from 1,500 Kč.
5. Who owns the logo afterward
Contests and studios usually include a rights transfer or an exclusive license in the price. Generators and templates work differently. A logo assembled from a Canva template cannot be registered as a trademark. Canva’s own help page explains that anyone else can use the same template. For a business that wants to protect its brand, that is the reason a template is not enough.
What should always be included in a logo price?
Whether you pay $50 or €5,000, check the offer for these:
- Vector files (SVG, PDF or AI) that let the logo scale up to a billboard.
- Three versions: full color, single color for stamps and embroidery, and an inverse version for dark backgrounds.
- Readability at small sizes: the logo has to work as a tiny browser icon, around 16 pixels.
- Colors in screen and print values (RGB, CMYK, and Pantone where it matters).
- A licensed font you are allowed to use, including on a website.
- A rights transfer or exclusive license, written into the contract.
- A stated number of revision rounds.
When one of these is missing, that piece of work shifts to later, and you pay for it somewhere else. What else belongs in a set of logo usage rules, we cover in our guide to what a brand guide should contain.
When is a cheap logo enough?
A cheap logo has its place. You might be testing an idea that does not need to last, or you need a mark for a one-off event. A generator for a few dollars is a reasonable choice then. In a year, once the idea catches on, you will redo the logo anyway.
It is different for a business whose logo goes on vehicles, packaging and a website, and that wants trademark protection. There, a cheap logo gets expensive. Reprinting business cards, a new vehicle wrap and fixing the website cost more than the difference between a cheap logo and a proper one.
How much does a logo cost at Chronicles studio?
| What | Price from |
|---|---|
Logo |
€800 |
Visual identity: logo, colors, type, a mini guide |
€1,200 |
Brand book |
€1,650 |
A logo price always includes three versions: full color, single color and inverse. It also comes with vector and raster files for light and dark backgrounds, a favicon, social profile images and licensed fonts. We show several genuinely different directions, and two revision rounds follow once you pick one.
We put the deadline in the offer, because for a brand it depends mostly on how fast approval moves on your side. One decision-maker means it goes quickly. Six people signing off on one logo means more rounds.
The number you see is the final price, nothing is added on the invoice. You can work out the exact cost for your scope in the calculator on our pricing page. What we do when building a full brand is on the visual identity page.
Frequently asked questions about logo pricing
How much does a logo cost for a small business?
A logo designed by a person, with a full file set and transferred rights, costs roughly €610 to €1,630 on the Czech market. Junior designers start around $130, online generators at $20.
Why is an agency logo so expensive?
You pay for research before any drawing starts, more genuinely different concepts, more revision rounds, and a complete file set with a guide. A full visual identity project is weeks of work from several people.
Can I make a logo in Canva?
You can, but a logo assembled from a Canva template or Canva graphics cannot be registered as a trademark. According to Canva’s own help page, that is only possible for a logo built from your own shapes or your own design.
How much does a brand guide cost?
A standalone usage guide starts at 1,500 Kč at smaller studios. A full brand book, covering colors, fonts, photography and tone of voice, starts at €1,650 with us.
Bottom line
A cheap logo is fine for testing an idea. Once a brand has to last for years, on a van, a website and a business card, pay for scope: distinct concepts, a complete file set and transferred rights.
