E-commerce Development in Prague

An online store earns its keep in seconds: every extra second of load time costs you sales, which makes speed matter more than looks. We build stores for people who live off what they sell, whether that is ten products or ten thousand, on Shopify or on a store built from scratch. You run it yourself afterwards, without calling support to change a price.

You get a store built around your catalog and your rules: variants, wholesale price lists, an unusual cart, links to your warehouse and accounting. If your selling works differently from everyone else's, the store bends to fit you and no template argues back.

Thousands of items in the catalog and the page still loads in under a second, on a phone as well as on a desktop.

Every service in this category, explained

  • E-shops

A complete store for the Czech and European market.

In short A complete store for the Czech and EU market: products, variants, payments, shipping, invoicing and GDPR handled properly. We choose the platform based on your volume and your business, case by case.

How we workWe start with the catalog: going through your products, variants and parameters and deciding how they get entered, since that decides how much daily work the store takes. Ecommerce product photography can run alongside it when your catalog has no usable photos yet. Then we set up payments, shipping with pickup points, invoicing and consents, and you place a test order and walk through the whole store yourself. Tracking goes live before launch, so the numbers are there from day one.

What you getA working store with catalog, stock, payments and shipping connected to pickup points, invoicing and GDPR consents built in. It comes with an admin panel for products, prices, discounts and articles, Google Analytics 4 and Merchant Center connected, and your team trained on its own real data.

    What's included

    • Payments, shipping, VAT and invoicing sorted
    • GDPR handled properly
    • Platform picked to match your volume
    • Packeta and PPL pickup points on the map
    • An admin where you set prices yourself
    • GA4 and Merchant Center connected from day one

    B2B Stores

Wholesale with partner pricing and fast reordering.

In short Wholesale plays by different rules: pricing per customer, bulk orders, approval flows, credit limits, ERP sync. We build B2B stores so your sales team can stop retyping orders that arrive by email.

How we workFirst we write down the business rules with you: who gets which price list, who can order on invoice, what credit limit each customer has, and who approves an order. Only then do we build the portal and connect it both ways to your ERP or accounting system. We run the data transfer as a dry test before going live.

What you getA B2B portal with login, price lists and discount tiers per customer, ordering by carton and pallet, cart approval, credit limits and invoices with payment terms. It includes a working ERP connection, a catalog hidden from the public, and a written description of what transfers where, and how often.

    What's included

    • Pricing per customer, ordering in bulk
    • Order approvals and credit limits built in
    • Synced with your ERP
    • Prices ex VAT, catalog hidden from the public
    • Invoice payment on the terms you set
    • No more orders arriving by email

    Ecommerce platforms

Shoptet, Shopify, WooCommerce or headless, sized to your store.

In short We're a Shopify development agency, and we also build on Shoptet, WooCommerce or Medusa. For bigger catalogs, headless ecommerce development often fits better. We compare platforms honestly for your case, help you choose, then build and customize it properly.

How we workWe go through your product and variant counts, your order exceptions, what needs connecting, and how much you currently pay in fees and add-ons combined. The result is a recommendation, which sometimes just means staying where you are. If you do move, we migrate to a copy first, check what's missing, and only then switch over the live store.

What you getA written comparison of platforms with a recommendation, and what each one would mean for your monthly costs and your exceptions. If you migrate, you also get your products, customers, order history and reviews transferred, plus a one-to-one redirect map for the old URLs.

    What's included

    • An honest platform comparison for your case
    • Shopify, Shoptet, WooCommerce, Medusa or headless
    • Migrate without losing your search rankings
    • We add up what today's fees cost you
    • Products, customers and order history moved over
    • Old URLs redirected one for one

    Marketplace

A marketplace where others sell and you set the rules.

In short A multi-vendor platform where other sellers trade through you: onboarding, commissions, payouts, reviews, disputes. We work out the marketplace rules first and build the software around them second.

How we workFirst we design how the marketplace works: who pays whom, when the money changes hands, what your cut is, and who's liable for returns. We get that agreed on paper before any software gets built. We roll it out in stages, usually vendors and catalog first, payouts and disputes after.

What you getA marketplace with vendor registration and verification, their own admin for stock and orders, a commission model, and split payments and payouts. It includes listing moderation, ratings, dispute handling, and a written set of rules the whole thing runs on.

    What's included

    • Vendor sign-up and payouts handled
    • Commissions, reviews and disputes covered
    • The marketplace rules designed before the code
    • Every vendor gets their own admin
    • Payment splits and payouts run automatically
    • Listings moderated, disputes handled

    Custom e-commerce

An e-shop with features no boxed platform offers.

In short For when an off-the-shelf platform runs out of road: unusual checkout flows, subscriptions, configurable products, licensing. We build the storefront around your logic and still get the boring parts, payments, taxes, emails, right.

How we workWe start with the one function a boxed platform can't handle: writing down what data goes in and how the price gets calculated from it. That calculation then needs to carry through to the order and the invoice. We build it as the core of the store and test it against real cases. Everything around it is assembled from proven parts, since there's nothing to reinvent there.

What you getA store where your logic runs as part of the order and carries all the way through to the invoice and to production. You get the source code, an admin panel for rules and prices, and a description of how the calculation changes whenever a new variant appears.

    What's included

    • Subscriptions and products you can configure
    • Checkout flows built around your case
    • Payments, taxes and emails still handled
    • A configurator feeding made-to-order production
    • Price calculated straight from your parameters
    • Your logic sits at the core

    John Doefirst call
    1. We're on a platform and we've hit the ceiling…

    2. It usually starts with one feature the platform lacks: a different price for regular customers, unusual shipping, a product configurator. Then it gets patched with three plugins that know nothing about each other, plus manual work by your staff. On the call we go through what exactly fails, and whether it really needs a rebuild or just a different platform.

    3. We upload stock twice: into the warehouse system and then into the e-shop 😮‍💨

    4. The most expensive mistake in e-commerce, because you pay for it every day in staff hours and counting errors. We connect the warehouse, ERP or accounting during the build itself, and it is the most common reason a custom e-shop pays off with us.

    5. The traffic is there, the orders aren't…

    6. It almost always breaks in three places: how fast categories load, how product search works, and the checkout. Clothing stores have a fourth: fashion ecommerce photography that shows how a garment actually sits. Before we design anything, we look into your data to see where people drop off. It is usually a different spot than the owner expects.

    7. I'm afraid I'll be left alone with it after launch!

    8. An e-shop is never launched and forgotten: stock, prices, shipping and laws keep changing. For the first 30 days we fix bugs free of charge. After that you can take a maintenance plan or run it yourself, because you get the admin and the data export with documentation.

    Commission costs you a year

    €5,640

Out of €3,900 a month, 12 % goes to the platform, that is €470 every month. Your own e-shop with us typically costs €7,350, from €4,900, and the commission would pay for it in 15.7 months.

We count only the commission. Your own shop has costs of its own: a payment gateway, shipping and the advertising a marketplace gives you in the price. The “typical” price is from the studio price list.

    Shoptet or a custom e-shop?

Shoptet, the Czech boxed e-shop platform, and others like it sell hard against custom builds, and they have a point, so we won't dodge it. For most new stores a boxed platform is the right choice, and if we claimed otherwise we'd be selling you something you don't need at a higher price. The difference lies in when the platform's ceiling starts costing more than it saved.

When to take Shoptet and skip us

    • You're starting out and mainly need to find out whether the goods sell at all
    • A catalog of up to a few hundred items and a standard order process
    • You want to be online in a week and a monthly fee is cheaper for you than an investment
    • The ready-made add-ons for payments, shipping and accounting suit you as they are

When the platform starts holding you back

    • Unusual order logic: individual price lists, approvals, product configuration, subscriptions
    • Links to your own system: warehouse, ERP, production, a B2B portal, anything without a ready-made add-on
    • Ownership: data and design live inside the platform, and moving elsewhere means building again
    • Cost over time: the monthly plan, paid add-ons and fees grow with your turnover, while an investment in your own store stays where it was

From the first call to the first orders

    1. You want to sell online

      Call and store review

We go through the catalog, the variants, how an order comes in on your side and what needs connecting. If you already sell somewhere, we look into the data to see where people drop off. Out of that comes the scope and a platform recommendation, including the option that a boxed platform will do.

    2. You know cost and timing

      Fixed price and plan

You get the scope, price and deadline in writing, usually within two to three working days after the call. You pay in three stages 40/30/30, so you never hand over the whole amount upfront. What the price excludes is listed as carefully as what it includes.

    3. You see your shop

Design and the path to an order

We design the category page, the product page and the checkout first, because that is where a sale breaks. You see a clickable prototype on your own goods, and you comment on it before anything gets coded. If the store needs a look of its own, ecommerce branding runs in the same stage, so the identity and the screens get decided together.

    4. Products are in

      Catalog and integrations

We build the store, import the products and connect payments, shipping, warehouse and accounting. A staging version runs the whole time on its own address, where you can look in at any moment and try placing an order.

    5. First test orders

      Trial run and training

We walk the order flow from payment to invoice to returns, set up analytics and Merchant Center. We train your people on the admin, and you get short videos so that whoever joins next year can manage it too.

    6. Your shop sells

      30 days on us

We redirect the old addresses one to one so your search rankings stay put. For the first 30 days we fix bugs free of charge. Then you can take a maintenance plan or run the store yourself: you've had the access, the repository and the documentation from day one.

How much a custom e-shop costs

E-shops start at €4,900, and four things move the price: catalog size, number of languages, links to your systems, and who writes the copy and shoots the products. E-commerce product photography and copywriting are quoted as separate items, so supplying your own takes them off the bill. A large catalog with integrations and a second language comes out at around €10,200 in our calculator. You can run the numbers yourself; it is no figure we keep back for the call. Deployment on a ready-made platform is cheaper and we offer it too, as a separate service from this one. Nothing is added on top, the price is final.

    Price up your own project

The service is already picked. Three questions left: goal, scope, extras. You will get an honest range at the end, and we fix the exact figure in writing after one call.

    Static-first, sub-second, yours to keep

We build static-first and match the stack to what the project actually needs. Pages ship as plain HTML, and JavaScript loads only where it earns its place. That's why our sites hit sub-second loads without any caching tricks. Dynamic features like search, accounts and checkout run on modern serverless infrastructure that scales without a sysadmin. You get the repository, the docs and the deploy pipeline. There's no lock-in: any developer can pick it up after us.

    What people ask most

How much does custom e-commerce development cost?

From €4,900. The price depends on catalog size, languages, integrations and whether you supply the copy and photos. On a fashion catalog, clothing photography for ecommerce is usually the largest of those items. You get an estimate from the calculator on the pricing page in two minutes, and a fixed price in writing after the call, usually within two to three working days. Nothing is added on top, the price is final.

How long does the build take?

From eight weeks. Programming takes the least of that time; most goes on decisions around payments, shipping and how exactly an order should run inside your company. The sooner we get access to your product data, the shorter the whole build, because e-commerce development starts the day that data is ready.

Can you connect the warehouse, accounting or ERP?

Yes, and it is the most common reason a custom e-shop gets built at all. We connect warehouses, accounting systems, carriers and customers' B2B systems. If your system has an API, we hook it up; if it has none, we tell you upfront what that means.

Can I manage products and prices myself?

Yes. The admin is part of every e-shop: products, variants, prices, stock levels, shipping, page copy. At handover we go through it on the live store, and you get short videos to show the people who come after you.

Will you move products and orders from the old e-shop?

Yes, migrating products, categories, customers and order history is a normal part of the project. Migrating the page addresses matters just as much, so that your search rankings hold; it is the most overlooked item when leaving a platform.

Do you handle payments and shipping for the Czech market?

Yes: payment gateways, cash on delivery, bank transfer, Zásilkovna (the Czech parcel-locker network) and the classic carriers, pick-up points, invoices and receipts. We also cover the store's legal duties towards the customer, from pre-order information to withdrawal from the contract.

Does anyone take a cut of my turnover?

We don't. You pay for the build and, if you want it, for maintenance; how much you sell never enters the bill. The only fees go to the payment gateway and the carrier, the ones who actually did work on each order.

Do you also do Shopify development, or Shoptet?

Yes. We deploy and customize a ready-made platform when the call shows it is the more sensible choice for your case, and it comes out cheaper than this service. We offer more than one thing and nobody talks you into the pricier option, because an e-shop you outgrow in a year makes a worse reference than one that fits. Shopify SEO is part of that work too: clean URLs and one-to-one redirects go in before launch.

Can I get an e-shop for free or for a few hundred euros?

You can start selling almost for free, and sometimes that makes sense: a marketplace mode on social networks, marketplaces like Allegro or Glami, or the cheapest plan on a boxed platform. What doesn't exist at zero cost is a store built on your rules. Anyone who promises you one for a few hundred euros is counting on a commission from your turnover, or on a template you'll throw away after a year. The honest answer: start cheap while you're proving the goods sell, and invest once the platform's limits start holding you back.

Who owns the data, content and code?

You do, from day one. Domain, hosting and repository are registered to your account, and you can download the database and source code at any time and hand them to anyone else. Boxed platforms work differently: design and data live inside the system, and moving elsewhere means building again. This difference bothers nobody in year one and decides everything in year three.
